While we believe the healthiest (and tastiest) way for a person to take natural fish oil is to consume more oily cold water fish like Alaska Salmon, we know that not everyone has access to quality fish, or even the desire to eat fish as frequently as they should. For those people, fish oil supplements are frequently recommend, and, even prescribed, as a viable alternative to increase the intake of polyunsaturated fats by their physicians.

The Difference

Our salmon oil is made from "species-specific" and "source-specific" fish - 100% wild-caught Alaska King and Pink salmon. Most fish oil is a blend of oil taken from different fish. Due to a lack of regulation and the unknown purity of the oil, it must undergo deodorization and "molecular distillation" to ensure the absence of undesirable odors and contaminants. During these processes, standard fish oils are heated to temperatures in excess of 150°C, which can degrade the omega-3 fatty acids.
