Cold-Pressed Process

Gently Processed Salmon Oil
Our Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil is made using a gentle, natural, low temperature process, in a manner very similar to that used for extraction of "extra-virgin, cold-pressed” olive oil. Our process does not thermally, or otherwise, degrade the many oil soluble micro-nutrients or the long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) found naturally in wild Alaska salmon.

Nutraceutical Process
Our Alaska salmon oil is separated by centrifugation at the earliest stages of the production process, immediately after the grinding and low temperature heating of the salmon. The separation of the liquid phase from the solid phase of a salmon takes place in a food grade decanter. The liquid, which contains water, water-soluble proteins, micro-nutrients, as well as the oil, is immediately passed through a food grade centrifuge which separates the salmon oil from the water. This proprietary low temperature cold-press process involves not one, but multiple stages of centrifuge separation that exceeds nutraceutical standards.

No Oxidation
Oxygen is an unsaturated fat’s worst enemy as the unsaturated bonds have a strong natural tendency to saturate with oxygen. All natural Alaska salmon oil is highly resistant to this oxidative process because it contains naturally high levels of anti-oxidants such as vitamin E (20-30IU/kg) and astaxanthin (3.0 ug/ml). Through careful control of temperature and minimal exposure to light in a state-of-the-art facility, our process produces a product that is not oxidized like other highly processed, or 'molecularly distilled' fish oil products. Similar to premium extra-virgin olive oils, our product is cold-pressed and filtered. Unlike other oxidized fish oils, you will generally not have the common "salmon burp" with our cold-pressed Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil softgels.

Full Omega-3 Spectrum
Just as mother nature intended, the resulting unrefined and 100% pure Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil contains all 24 long chain (LC) molecules of the beneficial Omega-3 family of essential fatty acids - not just the more commonly known EPA (C20:5) and DHA (C22:6). Click here for a list of the contents.

Contents
Wild Alaska Salmon contains among the highest natural sources of LC-PUFA’s with over one third of the fat of an Alaska Salmon falling in the unsaturated (healthy fat) category. While the fatty acid content of Alaska Salmon may vary from year to year, and ultimately will depend on the type of fish the salmon eat prior to their harvest, the following table lists a “typical” fatty acid analysis of Wild Alaska salmon: Lipid Analysis
